Red Sonja--She-Devil with a sword! I've always had a fondness for the 70s version of the character, from Marvel's Bronze Age. I started this drawing as a marker commission for a convention. This version has gone through a couple of permutations. I wanted to see what the auto-trace function in Illustrator would do with markers. I only had to do a little cleanup after the fact--I'm kinda diggin' the outcome.
Hunting for truffles in the Furkini Jungle! Done with a variety of tools, starting with my trusty iPad. I've gone through a variety of input devices--and I think all of 'em are represented here. I started with a Wacom Bamboo, then did a bit with the Adonit JotDot, then painted a bit with the Nomad brush. But in the end, I always go back to my handy Pencil by 53!

Sometimes I'm just not happy with an experiment. After looking at my earlier version of this enough, I realized I miss the magic of the "line" too much. So here's the latest version of the piece from a few weeks ago. All inked-up, with a fresh border, and I dorked around with the proportions a little as well. It was a fun experiment, but I gotta have a juicy line around my figures to be truly happy with the finished product!
